3/7/11

This last meeting was rather uneventful. It went as most meetings go, with flag, and skill instruction. We are working on Orienteering, which will culminate in an Orienteering challenge at the campout at the end of this month at Penrose state park. Unfortunately, we will not be attending.

The upside is that most of the troop will be working on the Theater merit badge with me. For school, I have to do a full length play and most of them want to help, which is good news. Other than that, not much happened.

Rank review: I still need Eagle merit badges for Life.

Badge review: I am finishing up Computers, getting Cycling signed off next Monday, and am midway through other merit badges.

Court of Honor

We finally got to a Court of Honor . . . the first one since September. Dad was running this one, and he challenged each patrol to come up with a display of what BSA will look like in 100 years, since we just celebrated BSA's 100th anniversary. Eagle patrol didn't get together, so I made up a display on my own.

After the food was eaten, the awards were handed out. I received 6 merit badges, 2 of them the Centennials that were only offered last year.

Also, we had some Webelos from pack 4532 cross over into Boy Scouts and join our troop. They are (from left to right) Ethan, Noah, Tyler, and Sam.

After the tables were cleaned up, Mr. Eric had everyone stop and gave me 2 more merit badges, my other 2 Centennials.
